Is Zopiclone Used to Treat Anxiety?

Zopiclone is a drug that has been used to help with sleep for many years. It’s most often prescribed for short-term relief of difficulties in falling asleep, waking up at night and early awakening, occasional or chronic insomnia, and insomnia associated with psychiatric disturbances. Zopiclone may also be prescribed if the patient suffers from severe anxiety caused by their inability to get enough restful sleep nightly.

If you need help sleeping, your doctor may recommend taking zopiclone. There are some guidelines to follow when you take it the first time: use only the lowest possible dose and don’t exceed 4 weeks.

Treating Anxiety with Zopiclone

The effects of zopiclone, a non-benzodiazepine drug for sleep induction and on relieving anxiety levels are not clearly established yet. However, in the study conducted by researchers from India who compared it to another popular benzodiazepine treatment medication with psychometric ratings – nitrazepam – found that there were no significant differences between them for tackling sleep, but that Zopiclone performed better for anxiety.

Zopiclone: What is it?

Zopiclone is a hypnotic agent that has been used by many people as an anti-insomnia drug. Though it sounds like the perfect solution for those who have trouble sleeping, there are some drawbacks to this medication.
The most common side effect of using Zopiclone (as with any sleep aid) is oversleeping or feeling sleepy during waking hours when you’re supposed to be functioning normally – so beware!

A lot of people in the world have sleeping problems. Doctors often prescribe sedative-hypnotics or tranquillizers to help make it easier for these individuals to fall asleep at night and feel more rested during the day, but this type of drug has side effects that include addiction and dependency on their use.

A large number of people across the country struggle with sleep issues – there are many different factors leading up to not getting enough hours each night including stress from work, health concerns like diabetes mellitus or asthma, depression keeping thoughts circling around negative situations 24/7…Doctors try their best by prescribing medications such as tranquilizers (sedatives) which alter brain chemistry so they can finally get a break when they close their eyes for bed.

A common misconception is that taking a sleeping pill will give you an uninterrupted night’s sleep. But research has proven otherwise, with the study showing people who take benzodiazepine had just about as good of a quality and quantity of sleep as those not on any such drug.

Older adults are more sensitive to these drugs, which can result in high risk for falls and hip fractures. The effects of the drug may accumulate over time and affect cognitive functioning or even memory bank banks; this is a cause that should be considered when taking any medication on an elderly person’s system.

Zopiclone and Zolpidem are nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic agents that although have fewer side effects than benzodiazepines still pose some risks to the user, especially for those who find it difficult swallow. For these individuals there is a liquid form of zopiclone available in markets worldwide.

Zopiclone is typically taken before bedtime or as directed by your doctor. It may be prescribed for up to 4 weeks, however after around the fourth week it will most likely lose its effectiveness so this time frame should not exceed four weeks.

The recommended dose of Zopiclone is to take the 7.5 mg tablet before bedtime for a better night’s sleep or 3.75mg if you’re elderly!

How should Zopiclone be Taken?

Zopiclone is a medication that can help you get to sleep when necessary. You should take it just before bedtime and not if you wake up in the middle of your night, as this could cause an overdose reaction from mixing with other medicines or alcohol consumption during the day. Zopiclone tablets must be swallowed whole, without being crushed or chewed, and taken with water.

Usage Warnings Zopiclone

When used to treat insomnia, Zopiclone should not be taken by people with respiratory failure or severe liver problems. Also those who are hypersensitive to the drug and children under age 18 as it may impair their physical development can’t use this medication for sleep disorders. The dosage of zopiclone should be reduced in patients whose kidney function is impaired because kidneys play a key role in removing excess drugs from your body during metabolism so they often require lower doses than healthy individuals do.

While there is minimal risk of dependence with zopiclone, the potential for addiction increases as dosage and length both increase. For this reason it’s important to use prescribed doses not exceed four weeks before consulting your doctor about a new prescription.

A study found that when you stop taking zopiclone abruptly, it can cause symptoms of withdrawal such as headache and insomnia. To avoid these unpleasant effects with an abrupt cessation from use for less than four weeks, talk to your doctor about tapering off instead.

A recent study has shown how people might experience some nasty side-effects if they suddenly quit using zopiclone without following a treatment plan first: headaches, extreme anxiety or muscle pain are just a few examples! This is why the sudden stoppage should be avoided during periods shorter than 4 weeks–talk to your physician before doing so in order to find out what’s best for your body type/needs.
